Russia - 2014/15 sugar output dips slightly

Russia is expected to produce 4.3 million tonnes sugar this season, according to farm industry researcher Ikar. The fall in output is due to high temperatures adversely impacting plant growth impacti

Sugar production was 4.4 million tonnes in the previous year notes Ikar. The estimate for this season, which started in August and runs through March, compares with a forecast recently by the economy ministry for a record 5 million tonnes.
