IKAR in Mass MediaRussia lobby cuts beet sugar output forecast06 октября 2010 года MOSCOW, Sept 13 (Reuters) - The Russian Sugar Producers union main industry lobby on Monday cut its forecast for the country's white sugar output from domestic beets to 3.0-3.1 million tonnes from previously expected 3.2-3.3 million tonnes. It said by Sept. 10, farmers had reaped 2.68 million tonnes of sugar beets, compared to 1.16 million a year ago due to an early start of the harvesting campaign caused by a drought. Average yields rose to 3.23 tonnes per hectare from 2.16 tonnes, while sugar content in beets rose to 16.17 percent from 16.06 percent a year ago, but sugar output from beet fell to 12.95 percent of the processed root weight from 13.12 percent. Last week the Institute for Agricultural Market Studies (IKAR) analysts lowered their forecast for Russia's white sugar output from beets in the 2010/11 season to 2.65 million tonnes from previous 2.8 million tonnes. Russia produced 3.2 million tonnes of beet sugar in 2009/10. Source: Reuters | #sugar | Comments: 0 Views: 80
