Russian Sugar-Beet Crop Reaches 23.6 Million Tons, Ikar Says

Bloomberg

Oct. 21 (Bloomberg) -- Russia's sugar-beet crop reached 23.6 million metric tons as of Oct. 18, up about 73 percent from a year earlier, the Institute for Agricultural Market Studies said.

Farmers harvested the root from 622,800 hectares (1.5 million acres), or 48 percent of planted areas, the Moscow-based institute, known as Ikar, said in an e-mailed statement. It cited agriculture ministry figures.
