Russia seeen buying 6 mln t grain from 90-92 mln t crop-IKAR

14 марта 2013 года

MOSCOW, March 14 (Reuters) - Russia's government, which is looking to replenish its state grain stocks after a severe drought, may buy about 6 million tonnes of grain this year, the head of IKAR Dmitry Rylko told reporters.

The government is likely to buy mainly wheat and maize (corn), he said on the sidelines of sugar conference in Moscow on Thursday.

Russia's 2013 grain crop is seen at about 90-92 million tonnes, including 50 million tonnes of wheat, Rylko added.

A harvest of that size would leave about 20 million tonnes of grain for potential export in 2013/14, according to IKAR estimates.
