He was a founding principal and president of Economic Perspectives, Inc., a firm of economic and food consultants that was acquired by Sparks Companies, Inc., a larger firm in the same field where he served as Senior Vice President and head of the Washington office from 1988 until 2001. Penn is a member of the Farm Foundation Board of Trustees, the International Food and Agricultural Trade Policy Council, the United States Trade Representative’s Africa Trade Advisory Committee and a Fellow of the American Agricultural Economics Association.Among the conference speakers. Over the previous three years, the conference has become the highest caliber event covering the CIS agricultural sector. It features the most qualified speakers, attendance of the highest ranking agribusiness executives, and a large productive capacity (since inception, the «land bank» of attending companies increased from 2.7 to 4.5 MHA of arable land). This year, our two organizing partners are ASSAGROS (the Union of the Russian agribusiness associations, headed by Mr. Victor Semenov, fmr. Russian agricultural minister, currently Chairman of the Agribusiness Committee of the Russian Chamber for Industry and Trade), and the Russian Sugar Union, one of the most powerful Russian agribusiness associations, headed by Mr. Andrey Bodin. As in the past, the 2013 conference will feature a timely and intensive agenda, many respected and influential speakers, and the best networking opportunities. The two lead topics of the 2013 conference are Russian farmland investments and minimal-till and no-till technologies.
