IKAR in Mass MediaRussia may harvest 85-95 MMT of grain, IKAR24 февраля 2015 года Russia may harvest a good grain crop this year despite a large portion of winter crops in poor condition, said Dmitry Rylko, Head of the Institute for Agricultural Market Studies (IKAR). As of November 2014, the share of winter crops in poor and very poor condition was far above the average. However, the bad state of crops was offset by a significant increase in their planted acreage. The Agriculture Ministry estimates that 16.845 Ml ha was planted to winter crops for 2015, or 12% more than a year ago. In addition, winter crops grew well in South Russia in December. Corn plantings may hit a record high owing to high profitability of corn cultivation this season. Planted acreage of oilseeds, including soy, may also reach a record size. IKAR forecasts a possible expansion of buckwheat, pulse plantings and a smaller rice area than last year. Source: UkrAgroConsult | #grain | Comments: 0 Views: 87
