Russia Forecasts 13% Slide in Beet-Sugar Production in 2013-14

Aug. 19 (Bloomberg) -- Sugar output from domestic beets will come to 4.1m-4.2mt in 2013-14 season after 21% drop in planted area, Agriculture Ministry says on website.

* Beet yields seen rising 5% from yr ago, sugar content to climb
* Russia’s beet-sugar output was about 4.8mt in 2012-13, according to data from the Institute for Agricultural Market Studies
* Sugar season in Russia starts Aug. 1 and ends July 31
