IKAR in Mass MediaRussian sugar exports to plunge in 2012/13-IKAR24 января 2013 года MOSCOW, Jan 24 (Reuters) - Russian sugar exports will fall to 40,000 tonnes in the 2012/2013 crop year from more than 205,000 in the previous season because of poor export economics, the Institute for Agricultural Market Studies (IKAR) said on Thursday. "Export was not successful because of an unfavourable price environment on domestic and external markets, that is, the domestic price did not fall enough in the autumn to permit exports," IKAR said in a report. "In addition Belarus and Kazakhstan, which have a domestic surplus of sugar, have been particularly active on Russia's traditional markets." Source: Reuters | #sugar | Comments: 0 Views: 63
