Glencore Division Shipped Most Russian Grain Exported This Year

Oct. 28 (Bloomberg) -- International Grain Co., a Russian unit of Glencore International AG, shipped most of the grain from the country since exports resumed on July 1, the Institute for Agricultural Market Studies said.

Glencore’s unit exported 1.4 million metric tons as of Oct. 22, the institute said on its website today, citing customs data. International Grain had no comment.

Russia’s grain exports this season were 11.6 million tons by Oct. 22, or 55 percent higher than two years ago before last year’s drought, the institute known as Ikar said. Exports this year include 10.1 million tons of wheat and almost 1.3 million tons of barley, Ikar said.

Russia may export between 16 million and 17 million tons of grain by the end of December, Ikar estimated.
