IKAR in Mass MediaRussia says this year's harvest about 85 mln tons of wheat so far08 октября 2024 года MOSCOW, Oct 8 (Reuters) - Russia, the world leading wheat exporter, has so far harvested about 85 million metric tons of wheat and 120 million tons of grain in gross weight from 90% of the seeded area, Agriculture Minister Oksana Lut said on Tuesday. Russia has officially forecast this year's grain harvest at 132 million tons, an 11% drop from 148 million tons in 2023 and a 16% drop from a record 158 million tons in 2022. However, after bad weather, ranging from early spring frosts to drought and rain, hit many grain-producing regions, the forecast is set for a downward revision. The IKAR consultancy forecasts this year's grain harvest at 124.5 million tons. In remarks posted on the ministry's Telegram channel, Lut said that the quality of harvested grain was better than last year. The ministry has so far forecast the wheat harvest to be between 94 and 86 million tons. Russia harvested 92.8 million tons of wheat last year and a record of 104.2 million tons in 2022 in clean weight. The agriculture ministry said it will announce its final estimate for this year's harvest on Oct. 10. Source: Reuters | #grain | Comments: 0 Views: 8
