Russia could expand output again in 2022

05 января 2022 года

Russia will produce 5.5-5.7 million mt of sugar in 2021, up from 5.2 million mt last year, thanks to a 8.5% increase in area and a 12.9% hike in yields, according to IKAR. The beet area could reach 1.1 million ha in 2022 unless the government interferes with prices again, which would translate to an output over 6 million mt and require 2 million mt of exports, the agency added.
