Russian wheat export prices began to rise again

MOSCOW (Reuters) – Russian wheat export prices resumed their gains last week in response to higher prices in Chicago.

According to the ICAP, the price of wheat in Novorossiysk with 12.5% protein content rose by the close for Friday to $ 237 per tonne ex-board from $ 233 a week earlier.

Refinitiv data shows a very moderate increase to $ 235.5 from $ 235 per tonne FOB.

From the beginning of the 2020/2021 marketing season to October 1, the Russian Federation exported 13.7 million tons of grain, which is 1% less than the comparable period of the previous season.

Wheat exports fell 5% to 11.5 million tons, supplies of barley rose 43% to 1.9 million tons, corn fell 46% to 0.26 million tons, SovEkon writes, citing official customs statistics.

On the domestic market, the price of wheat of the third and fourth classes increased to 14.325 rubles with self-delivery for the European part of the Russian Federation, by 225 and 250 rubles, respectively.

Last week, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation raised the forecast for the harvest in the Russian Federation in 2020.

Today IKAR also slightly raised its forecast.

Sunflower prices for the week decreased by 350 rubles to 30,100 rubles per ton, for sunflower oil – by 1,425 rubles to 69,575 rubles per ton. The price of soybeans has risen by 400 rubles to 31,800 rubles per tonne, writes SovEkon.

According to IKAR, export prices for sunflower oil rose over the week to $ 882 per tonne FB from $ 875.

The IKAR white sugar index for the South of the Russian Federation rose over the week to $ 543.48 per ton from $ 496.24, or to 42.0 rubles per kilogram from 38.30 rubles.
