IKAR in Mass MediaRussia- IKAR expects Russia to have 1 million mt export potential06 июля 2019 года Russia's sugar export potential will be at least 1 million mt in 2019 because of large carryover stocks and an increase in production in 2019, Russia's Agrarian Market Institute (IKAR) said Sunday. IKAR's Yevgeny Ivanov said Russia will at least will produce 6.4 million mt of beet sugar during the 2019-20 season, up 300,000 mt from the 2018-19 season. The increase is due to an increase in beet planting area, up from 1.136 hectares in 2018-19 to 1.144 in 2019-20, with 5% better crop density. "Judging by preliminary data and weather expectations, it can be assumed that in almost all regions where sugar beet is grown, except for the south of the country and the south-eastern regions of the Central Black Soil Region, a not only high, but a record productivity of sugar beet is [expected]," Ivanov said. Russian sugar exports fell 55.16% in 2018, down from 504,000 mt in 2017 to 226,000 mt in 2018, due to an underdevelopment of marine exports and low sugar prices, according to Ivanov. Actual sugar exports are expected to exceed 600,000 mt, according to Ivanov's forecast. Platts/Kingsman Daily Sugar News http://platts.com/ Source: platts.com | #sugar | Comments: 0 Views: 69
