IKAR in Mass MediaRussia- October sugar output estimated 1.8% below record levels16 ноября 2018 года Preliminary estimates from IKAR, a Russian agricultural consultancy, show October sugar production at 1.652 million mt, just 1.8% below than a record set in October 2017 of 1.683 million mt, according to the organization. High production levels in October come after September production set a record, reaching 1.474 million mt. The production record was set despite the later startup of sugar mills, as August sugar production fell to 379,000 mt from 524,000 mt in the same month of 2017, according to the report. Higher beet throughput and stronger beet sugar yields contributed to the high production numbers, the organization said. But production for the remainder of the season is expected to fall below the 2017-18 season as mills finish processing earlier. Beet production is expected to fall to 41.3 million mt in the current season, with 40.6 million mt harvested as of November 14, from 51.4 million mt last season, the organization said. The Russian sugar crop year runs from August through July. Platts/Kingsman Daily Sugar News http://platts.com/ Source: platts.com | #sugar | Comments: 0 Views: 102
