Russia - Russia has completed the processing of sugar beet

The 2017-18 season of beet processing on 4th at Kirsanov sugar factory of Tambov region, having worked incredible 227 days. The enterprise produced a record 100.1 thousand tons of sugar. The plant practically from October worked with wheels with the minimum reserves of beets in the plant's pits. Experience shows that the right choice of seeds for sugar beet hybrids and agricultural machinery complex, the sharpening of all agrotechnologies, the introduction of optimal harvesting, transportation, transshipment and field kagatation systems with minimization of storage losses allow processing sugar beet for more than 7 months in most sugar beet regions of Russia with more continental climate (except the South).

According to the updated data of the Federal State Statistics Service, the total sugar beet sowing-year in Russia totaled 1.2M ha (+ 8.2% against the previous year), gross harvest ("dirty" weight in the field) was 51.9M MT (+ 1.1%), yield was 442.1 c/ha (-6.4%). According to the data of Soyuzrossahar, in 2017/18 only 47.4M MT (-0.2%) was harvested in the RF (47.3M MT), 46.2M MT (-0.1%) was processed, the digest of beets during acceptance was 16.90% (+ 5.4%), produced 6.46M MTof sugar (+ 6.18%). In this production of sugar from beet, the processing of molasses at the Olkhovat plant is partly taken into account.

The production of sugar in spring-summer-2018 will continue from syrup ( Dobrinka ) and molasses ( Znamenka and Olkhovatka ). From 2018/19, the processing of molasses will also appear in Chernyanka .For the first time in the newest history of Russia in the season 2017/18, there will be no processing of cane sugar. The export of sugar from the Russian Federation in 2017/18 will update the 18-year record and may exceed 0.6M MT, first of all, at the expense of the EEA, Uzbekistan, other countries of the former USSR and Mongolia.

The preliminary forecast of the Ministry of Agriculture of the beet-sowing-2018 is 1.095M ha (-8.6%). On April 10,151.1 thousand hectares were planted (284.0 thousand ha a year earlier), the Central Chernozem Region has not yet started sowing.
