IKAR in Mass MediaRussia continues to produce beet sugar in record amounts in Sept27 октября 2015 года Russia produced 1.243 million mt of beet sugar in September, which was the record for this month, the Institute for Agricultural Market Studies said, with reference to data of the Federal Statistics Service (Rosstat), Russia & CIS Business and Financial Newswire reports. In August there was also record production, which amounted to 415,000 mt. Experts think that the production records of the two months were made possible thanks to the increase in planted areas for sugar beets by 11.2%, the lower level of areas that were written off, which according to the Agriculture Ministry's estimate, was only 0.6% and the growth of beet's crop yield by 3.1% and sugar yield by 0.6%. The weather made a certain contribution to the sugar beet harvest; it was favorable during both the vegetation period and at harvest time. In addition, the fact that the majority of sugar plants were launched earlier than last year had a positive effect. According to the forecast of the institute, beet sugar production in October also may be record-breaking for this month and amount to about 1.48 million mt. Russia's annual needs for sugar are estimated at 5.5 million-5.6 million mt a year. Source: Platts/Kingsman Daily Sugar News | #sugar | Comments: 0 Views: 82
